O’ MY TACO – A Must-Try Food Truck on Main Street
O’ MY TACO, a food truck that recently opened on Main Street in Bastrop, has already earned a reputation for serving “the biggest tacos in Bastrop County.” Owned by Pastor Roland Nava, the food truck serves a menu of hearty options including breakfast tacos, the Almighty Taco Burger, and the Almighty Fajita Taco. The size and flavor of these tacos are quickly becoming a local favorite.
Beyond its delicious offerings, O’ MY TACO is committed to giving back to the community. The proceeds from every purchase support the In the Streets Hands Up High Ministry (IT’S HUH), which supports various local services.
The food truck is open Thursday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays until 7 p.m. It is located at 2771 N. Main St., Bastrop, and has been delighting customers since its opening on September 12.
Chuy’s Tex-Mex – Coming Soon to Bastrop
The beloved Tex-Mex chain, Chuy’s, has confirmed plans to open a location in Bastrop. Though the exact opening date is still to be determined, city officials have confirmed that a Bastrop spot is in the works. Chuy’s is known for its “Texas-sized plates” that offer great value, featuring classic Tex-Mex dishes like fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, and burritos. If you’re a fan of margaritas or signature sauces, Chuy’s is sure to impress with its eight sauces and flavorful drink options.
Bubby’s BBQ – Serving Up BBQ in Nearby Smithville
Bubby’s BBQ, a favorite at the Smithville Farmers Market, has expanded and opened a brick-and-mortar location in Smithville, TX. The owner, Jay Johnson, started smoking meat for neighbors, and after receiving great feedback, he decided to bring his talents to a permanent space. Now, barbecue enthusiasts can enjoy classics like brisket, pulled pork, spare ribs, and more, all served with various sides.
The Smithville location at 109 2nd St. NW opened in early December 2024, and it’s already receiving rave reviews. Bubby’s BBQ is a family-run business that’s excited to provide delicious, high-quality barbecue to locals and visitors alike.
Sprouts Farmers Market – Coming Soon to Burleson Crossing East
For those who prefer fresh, high-quality groceries, Sprouts Farmers Market is making its way to Bastrop. The store will be located in the Burleson Crossing East development, near the upcoming Kohl’s. The store will offer fresh produce, meats, seafood, bulk products, vitamins, and supplements, making it an excellent choice for health-conscious shoppers.
The Burleson Crossing East shopping area, located at Hwy. 71 and Edward Burleson Drive, will cover 20 acres, providing ample space for shopping, dining, and more. The opening date for Sprouts is still to be determined, but it’s an exciting addition for anyone living in or around Bastrop.
