Fall Festival at Barton Hill Farms
October 21, 2022 3:16 pmFall is a special time of year in Central Texas, especially Bastrop. Cooler weather, pumpkin spice, and fall festivities make the season a welcome respite from the summer.
Nearby Barton Hill Farms is celebrating the turning seasons by holding its 11th Fall Festival. You and the kids can join in on 30+ activities including a corn maze, U-pick pumpkins, live music, catch & release fishing at Huck’s Pond, face painting, apple cannons, and more. It’s the perfect way to enjoy Fall with your family near Austin.
The Fall Festival runs every weekend from Oct. 1 – Nov. 6, 2022. Festival Hours are:
- Saturdays from 10:00am – 6:00pm
- Sundays from 10:00am – 5:00pm
Tickets for the festival can be purchased here, and kids under 3 years old are free. Be sure you’re aware of the arrival time on your ticket. Arrival times for Fall Festival guests are staggered to make sure it doesn’t get too crowded at the farm. It’s a good system to ensure that everyone gets to enjoy the farm in its full fall splendor.
Here’s what’s happening at this year’s Fall Festival:
Fall Festival Activities
Barton Hill Farms combines a farm, a playground, a restaurant, a bar, a park, and more. There is something for everyone!
Corn Maze
Barton Hill’s 5-acre corn maze is a fun way to challenge your sense of direction and intuition, and it’s also a good opportunity to run around with your kiddos! It’s only around in the fall, so catch it while you can.
Pumpkin Patch
Another fall-specific activity is finding your perfect pumpkin. You can be sure that Barton Hill Farms’ U-Pick pumpkin patch will have a great pumpkin for you. Looking for a large one? Small? Slightly lopsided? Head to the U-Pick pumpkin patch to find it!
Archery and Apple Cannons
Try some target practice with the variety of shooting activities set up at the farm. Everything from basketball, bow and arrows, and apple cannons are set up to see who can hit the bullseye.
More Fun Stuff…
Along with the festival-specific activities, there are farm animals to pet, a Biergarten, a massive tree fort, giant jumping pillows, and a kid-sized hamster wheel for the little ones. (You can expect a great nap afterward.) You can even rent a semi-private cabana for relaxing in the shade on the farm. It’s the perfect way to spend a fall weekend day with your family.
Country or City?
Barton Hill Farms is a perfect example of how Bastrop blends the country and the city, taking the best parts of each. You get the best of Austin when you want, but you can get some space from the city and enjoy some peace and quiet at the end of every day.
