Barton Hill Farms: Blooms & Brews Festival Filled with Flowers and Family Fun
May 5, 2022 5:32 pmAs summer quickly approaches, families all over Austin are looking for new activities that the whole family can enjoy. Barton Hill Farms is a family-owned and operated farm in Bastrop, Texas, a short 30-minute drive from Austin. The farm has a variety of daily activities, but in May, the Blooms and Brews Festival kicks off. From May 14th to May 30th, your family will have a blast picking flowers, taking a Texas Hayride, drinking a delicious cold brew, and chowing down on homemade fresh food.
May brings hundreds of blooming flowers to the farm including sunflowers, lupines, zinnias, cosmos, and tulips. These beautiful flower fields make the perfect candid family photos with little ones able to smell the flowers and pick a few to bring home! The Texas Hayride is perfect for adventurous children and follows a pre-paved trail through the farm. Each hayride is led by one of our farm associates on a tractor! Fresh, homemade food will also be available at the event with kid-friendly comfort food favorites: pizza, churros, kettle corn, and chicken tenders.
Farm animals live at Barton Hills year-round and meet-and-greet outings are available. Has your child met bunnies, ponies, pigs, and goats in person? Now is the perfect time to introduce them to these sweet and goofy farm animals. To burn off some energy, the Blooms & Brews event includes access to Barton Hills super slides and jumbo jumping pillow. The outdoor slides are large and long so everyone can check them out. The jumbo jumping pillow is a massive inflatable pillow that kids can use as an in-ground trampoline.
For those who want to enjoy a day at the farm without kids, the beer and cider garden awaits. Exclusively for those who are 21+, the garden overlooks the exquisite, serene Colorado River and houses both craft beer as well as hard cider from local breweries. On the weekends in May as well as Memorial Day, Barton Hills will have a live music stage with cool local bands performing their greatest hits.
Want a ticket for the event? All Blooms & Brews Festival tickets must be purchased through the official website. Barton Hill Farms wants to ensure that the event isn’t oversold and that everyone can fully participate and enjoy the farm experience. If you want to have a semi-private experience or bring an entire group to the event, Barton Hills does offer semi-private cabanas. These spaces must be reserved and offer a covered cabana with bench seating, an uncovered firepit area, 10 bottles of water, and can hold 10 people.
